4000 years ago, the Bure welcomed its first inhabitants. But it is especially from the 1st century BC to the AD that the Bure is organized in a camp entrenched behind walls. Huts and places of worship were built, craft activities completed the agricultural and pastoral economy. The excavations carried out from 1964 to 1986 revealed the interest and wealth of the camp, the 2nd archaeological site of the Vosges department. The remains are kept in the Pierre-Noël Museum.
