In the Middle Ages, the Saint-Félix church (Romanesque) stood on the site of the covered market. It was there that on April 7, 1247, the Viscount of Béziers, Raymond II Trencavel, after a last revolt against the power of the king of France, gave his viscounty into the hands of Saint-Louis.
The church was razed in 1815 and the place became a cemetery for the poor. Until the "great Haussmannian works" of the 19th century, wanted by the mayor Alphonse Mas. And so, the halles de Béizrs were opened. Today, they house 21 stalls of local merchants and producers, who attract the inhabitants every day.
