Built in 1886 to house the gymnastics society, the "Turnhalle" soon became the "Salle des Fêtes" and the venue for various meetings.
During the First World War, the building was transformed into a military field hospital and its facade was renovated with the loss of its two crenellated towers. For several decades, the "Salle des Fêtes" has been the setting for various events in the life of the Forbachois.
