Vendeuvre-Sur-Barse castle
Built on the source of the Barse river, the first stones of Vendeuvre-sur-Barse château were laid in the 12th century. Of its original appearance, the building retains only a few traces, as its architecture has undergone numerous modifications over the centuries, until the 19th century, when Guillaume Gabriel Pavée de Vendeuvre redesigned it and gave it its current appearance.
Many illustrious people have stayed here, including the Luxembourg family, governors of Champagne and even Louis XIII.
The château has been listed as a Monument Historique since 1981, and its park, where numerous events take place throughout the year, is listed on the Inventaire Général du Patrimoine Culturel.
The château is closed to the public.
Free admission to château grounds.
