Jardin médiéval des sires de Coucy

At the foot of the fortress is "the capitulary of Charlemagne". The medieval garden of Coucy consists of a garden, a vegetable garden and an orchard, generally located in the middle of the tombs of the monks.
There are 29 varieties that existed in the M-A (Pumpkin, mesclun, beets ...). Everything is made geometrically, the squares of earth go by 4 or by multiple of 4, number which reminds the 4 cardinal points or the 4 elements.
There is a fountain, reference to the baptism, the garden is closed, in memory of Mary who gave birth to a child while remaining a virgin.
A garden of Eden, mystical symbol of Adam and Eve. The garden is delimited by plessis made of small braided branches.
The garden is visible from the heights of the ramparts but is not accessible.
