At 1221m altitude, the panorama opens up here at 360 degrees on a superb landscape. To the north is Lower Navarre with the valley of the Aldudes and the peaks of Auza and Adartza. To the south, the plain of Burguete/Auritz opens the way to Navarre and Pamplona/Irunea.
The landscape is typical of the sylvopastoral ecosystem.
For migration, it is an exceptional site. Birds can be observed here in optimal conditions. The site has been scientifically monitored since 1987. The objectives are threefold: to study migratory flows in order to detect changes in populations, to study the impact of pigeon hunting on all migratory species and to inform the public about the fabulous phenomenon of migration.
These counts take place from 15 July to 15 November. For more information, contact the LPO Aquitaine 05 56 91 33 81.
