ABBAYE D'ÉTIVAL CLAIREFONTAINE

On the Route des 3 Abbayes, Etival la romane rises, with all its beauty, on the banks of the Valdange.

When it became an important abbey of the Premonstratensian order in 1147, Etival had already crossed the paths of such great people as Saint Odile or Richarde, Empress and Queen of France.
After having crossed the doors of a facade of the XVIIIth century, the surprise is to discover a splendid Romanesque abbey church, rich of the evolutions of the architecture through centuries.
Romanesque capitals, Gothic choir, 18th century choir stalls, cloister garden and fortifications await you.
