The Parc des Luxembourg was the former pleasure park of the Counts of Ligny-en-Barrois. By the 14th century, the park was already offering young Pierre de Luxembourg peace and quiet. Its "L" shape has remained unchanged since the beginning. The 8-hectare park is bordered by the waters of the Ornain river.
Remains of the Château's old ramparts are still visible; the rubble attests to its age.
Purchased by the town of Ligny-en-Barrois in 1794, it was classified as a Historic Monument in 1932.
