Le parc des Luxembourg était l'ancien parc d'agrément des comtes de Ligny-en-Barrois. Au XIVe siècle, le parc offrait déjà au jeune Pierre de Luxembourg quiétude et recueillement. Sa forme en "L" n'a pas varié depuis l'origine. D’une superficie de 8 hectares, il est bordé par les eaux de l’Ornain.

Des restes de l'ancien rempart du Château sont encore visibles ; les moellons attestent de son ancienneté.

Acheté par la ville de Ligny-en-Barrois en 1794, il a été classé Monument Historique en 1932.
