Montmédy-Haut is a place with about 100 inhabitants in the French department of Meuse in the municipality of Montmédy.
Arnold III, Count of Chiny, had the first castle of Montmédy built in 1221: the château de Mady, after which the place is named. From 1221 to 1364, Montmédy was the capital of the county of Chiny.
