Parc de la Vallée Suisse - Troyes

The gardens on the boulevard Gambetta were created from the moats of the medieval city walls when the suburbs were expanded.

Initially known as the Garden of Vienne (in reference to the river that flowed into the moat under the open sky until 1853), the garden was laid out in 1860 between the Théâtre de la Madeleine and the Rue de la Madeleine.

The Vallée Suisse garden, like the Jardin du Rocher, evokes the lush vegetation of an Alpine valley. The garden is enlivened by a cascading waterfall that flows into an artificial stream with a concrete bed that flows under a Japanese-inspired bridge .
