From the 15th to the 19th centuries, the waters of Soultz-les-Bains were a popular spa resort for the people of Strasbourg. After the fire of 1913, the old polygonal or oriel-chapel aedicula was very old and its remains were completely demolished in 1970.
Reviving the centuries-old tradition of the veneration of Saint Amand, the owner of the Sulzbad had a chapel dedicated to Saint Amand built at the southern entrance of the spa site. The interior decoration, with its original frescoes and stained glass windows, was carried out by the painter Roland Perret, a Molsheim fresco artist.
On June 26, 1994, the chapel was blessed by the Reverend Father Eugène Hugel, then parish priest of Soultz-les-Bains.
The chapel is located on the private domain of the spa site.
