The Old School dates back to the beginning of the 12th century as part of the original foundations of Rocamadour. Located high on the cliffs of the medieval village in the old rue de La Mercerie, it housed merchants selling their wares to pilgrims visiting the shrine of Rocamadour. In the last century, it was a former school before being restored to private ownership.
The house is less than 200 meters from the shrine and the main alley through the medieval village of Rocamadour. From here you are also centrally located to visit many of the region's colorful historic towns, markets and sites such as Autoire, Carennac, La Roque Gageac, Saint Cirq Lapopie, Pech Merle and Sarlat.
