Studied at the same time as the Bonnelle, Peigney, Buzon, Fourches and Brevoines forts, the construction of the fort remained only a project. During the 1870-71 war, earthworks were carried out on the site, creating a place for artillery and a succession of protective ditches. It was originally designed to accommodate 120 men. Modified in 1873 as an annex to the Bonnelle fort, all that remains today are the earthworks in a meadow.
