Presentation of local history, from protohistory to the 21st century, highlighting the role of roads and the Dordogne River as life-giving axes. Thematic panels and display cases presenting the archaeological treasures discovered at the Puy du Tour and Villa du Longour sites, medieval furniture, coins, etc. Documentary film on the history of inland waterway transport and courpet (gabare: traditional flat-bottomed boat) construction techniques.
The museum also boasts a temporary exhibition gallery, which hosts an average of 1 or more different exhibitions during the season. Art and heritage take center stage, complementing the visit to the permanent exhibition.
