This museum evokes the evolution of the Champagne bottle in its forms and successive technical adaptations. Starting from the uncertain fizzle of the still turbulent champagne of the royal courts, these led to the regular and limpid effervescence of the “champagne method”. Originally dedicated to the service of wine, the function of the bottle has evolved with a desire to improve the quality of the beverage, and its conservation, especially in the 17th century, thanks to the advances in glass techniques. From this last function follows the elaboration of champagne in the bottle. Chronological exhibition. Among the rarities, the 18th century flutes of barley grain, first glasses intended for the tasting of the champagne.
