Peat bogs are closely related to the presence of springs, water tables or lakes. These environments, resulting from the last glaciations, are extremely fragile and sensitive to any disturbance in their hydrological functioning.
Other habitats that are not determining but equally important in the functioning of these wetlands are also
present: acidic basins with various sedges or Narrow-leaved Cottongrass, bogs with Blue Molinie, streams,
meadows and wet lawns. The site is also a stopover and resting place for migratory birds.
