In 1953, Pierre Massé purchased Château Quessard located in Pompignac, 7 miles from Bordeaux. This estate produced fruit on 60 acres of orchard (pears, apples, plums) and had only 8 acres of vines. Château Quessard benefits from its location on the road between Bordeaux and Saint Emilion.
Each vineyard is managed in a specific way to take advantage of its terroirs and produce the best quality grapes. Several grape variety are grown : 70% Merlot, 25 % Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon (black grapes), 75% Semillon and 25% Sauvignon (white grapes).
