Andaye, la cité des mémoires is a place to visit in Hendaye town center.
It invites the public to discover the history of Hendaye, and more broadly of the Basque Country, in a fun and interactive way.
9 rooms will take visitors on a journey from witchcraft to the 16th century, via neo-Basque architecture, smuggling, the great conflicts of the 20th century, gastronomy and, of course, the border and customs.
The collections on offer will include copies of major works, including Goya, from Versailles, the Grand Palais in Paris, museums in Madrid and London...
To complete the experience, an escape-game dedicated to Etienne Pellot, the last French privateer and Hendayan, will also be on offer.
The site will be certified Tourisme & Handicap and Famille Plus.
