At the foot of Pont Valentré (14th c.), Cahors' most emblematic monument, this garden planted with vines echoes Cahors wine and its emblematic grape variety, Malbec.
It is the starting point for the Jardins Secrets circuit, a route marked out by bronze nails with acanthus leaves, which takes you to the heart of the city.
Since Gallo-Roman times, vineyards have been a founding element of Cahors? identity. These vines planted on the banks of the Lot maintain a strong link with the river, evoking the Cahors wine trade, which since the Middle Ages has followed the Lot and then the Garonne to reach the port of Bordeaux.
