The Doubs changes valley to flow into the Lac de Saint Point. You can hike from the Longevilles Mont d'Or station, 5.4km.
The trail partly follows the flow of the Doubs and passes through the Gorges du Fourperet (cluse), which the Doubs shaped to cross the Mont de la Croix. This gorge serves as a crossing point for the departmental road 435 and the railway line from Paris to Lausanne. The path follows the Doubs into the gorge.
