The Quai Gambetta runs from the Nausicaa gardens to the fish market.
Stroll through Boulogne-sur-Mer's daily fish market (several fish stalls – called aubettes – on Quai Gambetta in the harbour) for fresh fish and seafood.
Sunday morning from 8am to 12.30pm, opposite the fish stalls on the Quai Gambetta: food market , short guided tours and local products.
The city of Boulogne-sur-Mer was 85% damaged at the end of the Second World War and was reconstructed by Pierre Vivien. Symbols of the reconstruction are the towers "Les Buildings" on the Quai Gamnetta which face the tidal harbour and are almost 40 metres high. Set diagonally on a narrow and elongated plot, they are oriented towards the canal, as a showcase of the new city. Each building is built on a reinforced concrete frame of 48 piles and has 12 floors, including 9 apartments, forming a total of around 200 residential units.
