Situated between the Tour du Portalet and the Tour Vieille , right on the old fishing district of La Ponche , Plage de la Ponche is a historic beach of about 50 metres long, only accessible on foot via the harbour or citadel.
It is a sand and pebble beach , with a concrete platform on one side for easy access to the water via an iron staircase, a sheltered spot : ideal for those who want to refresh themselves or cool their feet, in addition to a picturesque and peaceful setting.
It is one of the locations in the legendary film Et Dieu... créa la femme with Brigitte Bardot, which was partly filmed on this coastline.
