Bouvières - Rémuzat - Bouvières

A beautiful bike ride with quite a few elevation meters through the Parc Régional des Baronnies Provençales over four cols and on good quality roads with little car traffic. The ride starts from the parking lot at the church and town hall of Bouvières with the short climb of the Col de Sausse. Then it goes quietly downhill through the canyon Défilé de Trente Pas and through the towns of St. Ferréol-Trente-Pas and Condorcet. In Les Pilles we cross L'Eygues and follow this beautiful river to Cunier. From there we follow the tributary l'Ennuye slightly uphill to Sainte-Jalle. The 10 km long and irregular ascent of the Col de Soubeyrand begins in Sainte-Jalle on a narrow track between the fields. The views to the south of the wide valley of the Ennuye, occupied by agriculture, and the ridge behind it, including the Montagne de Montloud, are spectacular. From the Col de Soubeyrand it goes quickly downhill until we end up back in the valley of the l'Eygues. In Rémuzat we follow the Oule river uphill. The very gradual and gentle climb of the Col de Pré Guittard actually starts here. A nice and easy climb, but on hot days without any protection against the sun. Once through the Col de Pré Guittard, it first goes downhill to Haute Gumiane and then climbs again briefly to the Col Lescou. In the meantime we have a beautiful view to the north of the valley of the Roanne and Montagne de Couspeau. From the Col Lescou it finally goes downhill to Bouvières.
