The bunker trail is an exemplary achievement that perpetuates the duty of remembrance of a tormented era: the First World War in the Donon massif. In August 1914, violent fighting took place at Plaine, St-Blaise-la-Roche and Le Petit Donon: a war of movement aimed at securing strategic positions. The military cemeteries of Plaine, Donon, Grendelbruch and La Chapelotte bear witness to the harshness of these battles.
