Discover all benefitsMonthermé, a compact town at the bottom of the Meuse valley, is dominated by the steep heights of the Enveloppe. From the ridge trail, the spectacle of the great loop unfolds to the horizon.
/ From the Tourist Office, Place Jean-Baptiste Clément, take the main street.
/ Continue towards Thilay, passing in front of the bank, the gendarmerie, the college, and the rescue center.
/ A little higher up, take the ramp (retaining wall) for a few meters, then turn left onto Rue de l'Égalité, which runs alongside the cemetery and Rue de la Promenade. At the end, continue straight along the path that leads to the inn of la Roche-à-Sept-Heures.
/ Take the forest road towards la Roche-à-Sept-Heures. After the viewpoint, go left. A slight ascent, some stairs, and a metal ramp indicate the beginning of the Ridge Trail, which overlooks the loop. Through the woods, reach the site of la Longue Roche.
/ Take the path just behind the tree-lined way.
/ At the intersection, go left to join Chemin Saint-Louis and descend the slope. At the bottom, continue towards the Tourist Office. Circuit excerpt from the hiking guide Les Ardennes à pied, June 2017.
