Discover all benefitsHere, as in Fumay, slate is queen. It adds a blue and purple hue to the landscape. This circuit along the Mohron stream features 7 interpretation panels presenting the work within the slate quarries and their natural environment.
/ Take the small road and reach the Labotte mill (hotel-restaurant).
/ Continue straight on the wide forest path.
/ Cross the Fond-d'Oury slate quarry (1810; on the right, entrance to the illuminated gallery) and continue along the Morhon stream leading to a small slate bridge. Cross this bridge and follow the stream on the right until you reach the place called la roche de Madame-de-Cormont.
/ Cross a ford and descend along the stream on the right.
/ At the intersection of the catchment area, turn left for 100 m and cross the road. Follow the path on the other side of the road for 30 m then turn right towards the viewpoint of the Platale.
/ Take a path that runs along the road. About 400 m lower, cross the road again.
/ Turn right onto a grassy path bordered by hedges. Enter the undergrowth by taking the path on the left, then descend to an intersection. Take the path to the right for about 300 m, then catch up with the Moulin Labotte by turning left as you exit the undergrowth.
