After a good warm-up by the Meuse on the greenway, the trail explores the forest massif, alternating wide forest roads and slightly more technical passages.

D/A Start facing the church of Chooz. Take the street in front of the town hall, turn right then left to cross the Meuse. Continue to the right.1 Follow the greenway along the Meuse then enter the underbrush to the left on a dirt path that rises to reach Ham-sur-Meuse via Rue des Douaires.2 At the intersection, descend to the right towards the center of the village; pass the church. After the turn, take the left onto Rue du Paradis and follow the Greenway for nearly 4 km towards Vireux-Wallerand.3 Pass in front of an isolated dwelling, leave the Greenway and take the path climbing to the left in the underbrush for 1.6 km.4 Turn right after the picnic table and descend the narrow path for 350 m then turn right at the fork.5 Descend for 250 m [Steep slope] and turn left twice in a row. Follow the markers closely to reach the hunting cabin below by crossing the stream of Thirissart.6 Follow the climbing forest path to the left of the hunting cabin for 1.4 km. Turn right onto a narrow path weaving between tree stumps and blue stone markers for 2.6 km.7 After passing over two significant bumps, turn left and travel 250 m before reaching a forest road. To the right, reach the picnic area.8 Pass the barrier and follow the Pilgrim’s forest road. At the large intersection (the Pilgrim's Fountain is to the left), turn left then left again at the fork 100 m further.9 Descend the stony track [Risk of falling], cross the Bourifosse stream and continue straight on the climbing forest path for nearly 1,300 m. Continue to follow the markers on the forest paths.10 The slope steepens after a first steep left turn [Slope of 8% with gravel and a barrier at the end of the descent]. At the intersection, turn right onto the paved road towards the bridge to return to the starting point.
