Cycling Circuit No. 6 - Gérardmer, La Bresse, Le Valtin

Starting from Gérardmer, follow the lake towards Épinal. At the roundabout at the end of the lake, turn left towards Ramberchamp. After the LAC area, the swimming pool, and the tennis courts, turn right towards La Bresse.

Cross the Haut de la Côte – Les Bas-Rupts pass, then continue towards La Bresse by the Grosse Pierre pass. At the entrance of La Bresse, cross the town towards the center. Then, turn left and go up the Chajoux valley for 11 km.

At the Feignes pass, turn left towards the Schlucht pass (1139 m). Take a break at the summit, then follow the Route des Crêtes, north side, until the Calvaire pass (1144 m). You will cross the Tanet – Gazon du Faing nature reserve, renowned for its high moors and open landscapes.

At the Calvaire pass, turn left towards the Bonhomme pass. Descend for about 2.5 km, then, at the Louschpach pass, take the small forest road to the left. Descend towards the Meurthe valley.

At the Dames pond, turn left towards Valtin, then join Xonrupt-Longemer and Gérardmer via the Surceneux pass to complete the route.

Good tip: from the Calvaire pass, vary the route by descending right towards Lake Blanc, then the Wettstein pass, Soultzeren, and ascending the Schlucht pass. This alternative offers beautiful views of the steep slopes of the Vosges massif.
