Cycling Circuit No. 2 - Xonrupt-Longemer

Scenic cycling loop, starting from Xonrupt-Longemer, intended for cyclists looking for elevation gain, sustained climbs, and clear viewpoints over the valleys and ridges of the Vosges from Haut-du-Tôt. With a length of 50 km and a positive elevation gain of 880 m, it passes through several typical villages and offers a great diversity of landscapes.

Starting from the campsite at Domaine de Longemer, head towards Gérardmer and cross the town. Upon reaching the town center, follow the direction to La Bresse. Shortly after the top of the first climb, dominated by the hotel Les Bas-Rupts, turn right towards Rochesson / Vagney via D23.

In Rochesson, turn right 300 m after the bakery, heading towards Menaurupt. In Menaurupt, cross the road connecting Sapois to Gérardmer and continue straight towards Haut-du-Tôt, the highest village in the Vosges. Enjoy the panorama before descending to the valley of Cleurie, heading towards Le Tholy.

Upon arrival in the valley, follow the direction to Gérardmer until Rain Brice, then turn left toward Liézey. Climb up to the village, pass by the town hall, turn right, then take the first left on the route du Grand Liézey, which connects to Gérardmer via the Pépinière des Xettes.
As you descend, enjoy the breathtaking view of Gérardmer Lake and its wooded slopes before returning to your starting point.

Good tip: to shorten the route, head back towards Gérardmer from Menaurupt, passing through the Sapois pass. A practical variant to adjust the distance and elevation gain.
