Departure: parking lot at the Church – place of the Veterans of Indochina, Granges-Aumontzey.
Legend has it that Charlemagne chose this place to build barns during his hunts in the nearby forests. Today, Granges-Aumontzey is known for the Vologne, a river with clear waters prized by fishermen, and for its numerous paths conducive to discovering a varied fauna and flora.
Route:
From the parking lot, turn left onto D423 (direction Gérardmer), then turn right towards Le Tholy. Gradually climb into the forest until you reach the Champ de Laxet, then turn right towards Champdray. Located on a plateau at 700 m altitude, this village offers beautiful panoramas, particularly from the Spiémont (811 m), an ancient druidic site overlooking the valleys of the Vologne, Neuné, and Barba.
Cross the village, continue towards Jussarupt, Aumontzey, and finally reach the center of Granges-Aumontzey to complete the route.
