Ah! Here we are! As I cross the vineyards that lead me to Santenay, I think back to all those who, just over 2000 years ago, decided to come and conquer this small part of Gaul. The Romans who tread the lands here know that their vine roots need warmth... The sun rays guide them not far from a coast further south and more golden than the gold of the temples, that of Beaune. Santenay, the closest wine-producing region to Autun, shines with its stories from the past.
