Arbois, the capital of Jura wines, was the first French AOC in 1936, honoring a centuries-old winemaking tradition. It is a town where the art of living makes perfect sense and where one enjoys lingering, carried by the local sweetness of life. It is also the land of Louis Pasteur, regarded as the father of oenology. This walk takes you along the vine path, discovering the terroirs of Corvées and Curon. These steep slopes with excellent wines illustrate what the essence of Arbois terroir is: ideal sunshine and altitude, stony soils sitting on deep gray marls, at the foot of a limestone cliff.
