Welcome to Vougeot, in the Côte de Nuits. The Côte de Nuits... what does that mean? In Burgundy, when one says they are "on the Côte", it is not about beaches and sea... or rather an ocean of vines. In fact, here, the Côte is "the mountain"! A small mountain, certainly, but that is how the Burgundians refer to the hills (funny, isn't it?) that stretch from Dijon to the Maranges and are covered with the most refined grapes in the world.
