Solbach, a charming mountain village nestled at the foot of Mont St-Jean, is perched on a foothill of the Champ du Feu massif. According to legend, it was completely destroyed during the Thirty Years' War. Faced with this sad fate, the inhabitants united to rebuild it higher up in the valley, located beneath Mont St-Jean and Perheux. Superb single-block farms from the 18th and 19th centuries scattered throughout the village bear witness to significant subsistence agriculture.
