The journey starts in Albiez-le-Vieux, but can in principle be started anywhere.
You first descend to St. Jean de Maurienne, then you cycle through the valley of the Arc River (the roads in the river valley can be quite busy).
Next, you tackle the beautiful climb of the Lacets de Montvernier (the numerous hairpin bends carved into the rocks towards Montvernier).
Then you descend again to the Arc River, and you have the climb of the very quiet Col du Mollard with about 40 hairpin bends. The climb stays in the forest for a long time, providing coolness on warm days. You do not ascend all the way to the top.
