Rondje Malaucene

Beautiful, fairly challenging bike ride from Malaucène with one climb of the Ventoux, focusing mainly on the region south of Malaucène. The route starts in Malaucène with the famous climb of Mont Ventoux via the D974, after which it descends towards Sault via the D164. From Sault, you go via Monieux to the top of the Gorges de la Nesque, where you have a beautiful view of the top of Ventoux. Descent to Villes sur Auzon with a breathtaking view of the valley. Then it heads towards Bédoin, via Flassan. Passing through Crillon le Brave, Modène, and Caromb, it continues to the beautiful 'Le Barroux,' where I chose a short but very steep climb via the 'Route Ancienne de Caromb.' From here, the route is characterized mainly by short, steep inclines, followed by similar descents. The long descent from La Roque Alric to Lafare and the long climb from Lafare to Suzette (where you have a nice view of the Dentelles de Montmirail) are exceptions. Ultimately, my Garmin recorded 2,640 meters of elevation.
