From Saint Tropez to Notre Dame des Anges.
This route starts and ends at the Place des Lices in Saint Tropez.
A few kilometers along the Mediterranean Sea to the east, partly along a cycle path. Just before Cogolin Plage, it turns left, then towards Cogolin. On the way, we already have a short but steep first slope. Through Cogolin, beautiful town to finally start the climb of more than 12km of the "Col de Taillude" after which the descent to Collobrières. Here, you'd do well to stock up.
Then a fairly flat road towards Pierrefeu-du-Var. Just before this village it turns right by beautiful roads to finally start the beautiful climb of the "Sanctuary Our Lady of Angels" (780m altitude). This climb is an absolute must with longer sections around 8.5%.
The descent goes back to Collobrières (refueling if necessary) then it heads towards the Col de Babaou (414 m).
If you want a shorter route, you can simply exclude the loop to Notre-Dame. You can also turn right before Collobrières to climb the slope of Notre Dame and then descend in the other direction, but this descent is less safe.
The descent of the Babaou on a narrow but beautiful causeway is particularly pleasant.
The route continues towards Bormes les Mimosas but after about two kilometers turn left on the narrow road of the "Piste des Crêtes".
This narrow road offers phenomenal views of the Mediterranean Sea on the right (including Le Lavandou), but the slope should not be underestimated, especially considering the number of kilometres you have in your legs.
Finally, the route leaves this track on the right for a descent to the Rayol Canadel sur Mer.
The connector follows the big track (safely) for a while before finally cutting another glue.
After the descent, you can return directly to Saint Tropez via the D93, but then you leave a particularly beautiful part behind.
As we do not, we turn left and follow a steep climb to Ramatuelle, then even steeper to the "Moulin de Paillas" and further to Gassin.
It is a very beautiful village and is worth a look.
The descent that follows to Saint Tropez is a beautifully maintained straight road where, if you wish, you can go very fast. Keep it safe!
Eventually, you will return to the Mediterranean Sea, but you leave the cycle path for a while to take a shortcut via the D93 and further left which takes you back to the Place des Lices without much traffic.
