The idea that music stimulates plant growth is put to use in this region at the Il Paradiso di Frassina vineyard. Here, winemaker Giancarlo Cignozzi plays classical music, mostly Mozart, continuously through loudspeakers in the vineyard. He claims that this improves grape growth, reduces mold and insects, and speeds up ripening. The University of Florence has conducted research into these effects, although the scientific evidence is still limited.
The method is inspired by the idea that sound vibrations can activate enzymes and cell processes in plants, potentially contributing to healthier and better growing vines.
