In 1336, a young girl admitted to the hospital of S. Donnino or S. Lorenzo was miraculously cured of a long illness, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. After the miracle, the infirmary was converted into an oratory; but in the 15th century a new church was built in its place, dedicated to S. Maria delle Grazie, also known as the Church of the Bed, because the bed of the miraculous girl has been preserved.
