The Alzette (Luxembourgish: Uelzecht; German: Alzig or Elz(ig)) is a river in France and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. It originates in Lorraine in the municipality of Thil and also traverses the French municipalities of Villerupt and Audun-le-Tiche.
In Luxembourg, it flows through the cities of Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg, and Mersch and then empties into the Sûre at Ettelbruck.
