Only in 1910 did the Benedictines of Saint-Maurice and Saint-Maur build the imposing neo-Romanesque abbey, whose tower with red tiles rises high above the city center and contrasts sharply with the green landscape. The abbey was erected as a tribute to the Burgundian abbey of Cluny. A remarkable historical fact is also the uprising (in 1798) of the farmers of Clervaux against French domination. Close to the abbey, a monument commemorates this event.
