The Sûre (German, Luxembourgish: Sauer, Walloon: Seure) is a river in the Belgian province of Luxembourg and in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
From the confluence with its tributary the Our until the Sûre itself flows into the Moselle, it forms the border between Luxembourg and Germany over a distance of 50 km. This bordering stretch is a condominium belonging to both countries, just as is the case for the Our and the Moselle along the same border. The mouth into the Moselle is at the village of Wasserbillig, the lowest point of the Grand Duchy. The total length is 173 km.
The Sûre springs near Vaux-sur-Sûre in the Ardennes and irrigates small parts of Belgium along the border with the Grand Duchy that belong to the Rhine basin. At Martelange, the river enters the Grand Duchy and shortly thereafter, to the west of Esch-sur-Sûre, it flows into a reservoir, the Lac de la Haute Sûre.
The towns along the Sûre are Ettelbruck, Diekirch, and Echternach. Tributaries include the Wiltz, the Alzette, the Our, the Prüm, the Black and White Ernz, the Stranche, and the Syrbach.
