Schiessentumpel

Source: Eddy&Rita

The Schiessentümpel is a waterfall on the Black Ernz near the town of Müllerthal in the east of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. It is the highest waterfall in Luxembourg.

The Black Ernz has carved three gullies into a sandstone threshold. A new wooden bridge has been built over the waterfall.

The Schiessentümpel is one of the great attractions of Luxembourg's Little Switzerland. The waterfall can be reached via a hiking trail that starts in Müllerthal, or via the road from Müllerthal to Junglinster.

In 1993 the rare fern Trichomanes speciosum was found near the Schiessentümpel.
