Here, just behind the station of Keutenbach, the Wiltz flows. The Wiltz is a river that flows through Belgium and Luxembourg. In Luxembourgish, the river is called 'Wolz'. The source is located near the Belgian Bastogne. After about 42 kilometers, it flows into the Luxembourg Sûre near Goebelsmühle (Bourscheid). In Kautenbach, at the foot of the hill on which the church stands, the wider Clerve ('Klierf') joins the Wiltz.
There is also an information board about the vegetation at this location. It is about 'ruderal vegetation', namely the plant species that occur in disturbed areas such as railway yards.
