The solar circle

50°N - 6°E

You are located here 50° north of the equator (= latitude) and 6° east of Greenwich (= longitude). This is the only intersection between a latitude and a longitude in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Our solar circle offers you many possibilities. For example, you can;

• get to know the grid of the earth,

• determine cardinal directions,

• observe the change of the seasons,

• measure the position of the sun and the length of the day,

• build and read a sundial,

• determine your position based on the sun and the time.

Our solar circle is directly east of Enscherange, about 100 m below the community antenna. From there, you have a beautiful view to the south and southwest over the Clerve Valley and Wilwerwiltz.
