In 1782, when this majestic Baroque building was erected, the country experienced an economic and cultural revival that made these spacious houses possible.
It is obvious that a miller would take advantage of these benefits. As old accounts show, wages had risen significantly at that time.
Those who ran a frugal household had the necessary financial reserves to afford such beautiful buildings.
Outstanding corner blocks ("Aschler") frame the facade. Stone bands below the windows ensure a good distribution of the masses while also emphasizing the tripartite division of the facade, which is a rarity. The master builders of this house were as skilled in construction as they were in architecture.
The existing living space was certainly not fully intended for the large family; servants and maids who earned their bread in the mill were also accommodated here.
