The Monte-Carlo station is an old railway station on the Marseille-Saint-Charles to Ventimiglia line, located in the territory of the Principality of Monaco. Opened in 1869, it was closed in 1965 and destroyed shortly after.
In 1866, the Paris-Lyon-Mediterranean Company began construction of the extension of the line from Marseille to Monaco, nine kilometers long to Menton. It crosses the Principality for 3,600 meters, on land provided to the Company by the expropriation jury. The Monte-Carlo station was inaugurated in 1869, following pressure from the Société des Bains de Mer to allow the Casino to invite wealthy Parisian vacationers.
