The Naardermeer is a protected nature reserve in the Gooi, located between Muiderberg, Naarden, Bussum and Weesp. It is a lake area with reeds, hayland and swamp forest. It is home to many marsh plants and animals, including unique ones such as cormorants. It was the first area that the association Natuurmonumenten purchased after its foundation in 1906 to protect. The area has limited access for visitors; There are also organised walks and boat trips.
