Mathematician and scientist Daniel Bernoulli was born in the city of Groningen, on the site where the Public Library is now located, the son of Johan Bernoulli. He studied medicine and left in 1725 for the newly founded academy of St. Petersburg, where he worked very closely with Leonhard Euler for six years. Daniel Bernouilli is the earliest author to attempt to construct a kinetic gas theory. He applied this theory to explain Boyle's law. Together with Leonhard Euler, he worked on problems in the field of elasticity and the development of the Euler–Bernoulli beam equation. [2] Bernoulli's principle is of great importance in aerodynamics.
